First. The name of the Company is "THE CHINA LIGHT AND POWER COMPANY (1918), LIMITED.

Third.-The objects for which the Company is established

(a) To acquire and take over as a going concern the under- taking and all the assets and liabilities of the China Light & Power Company, Limited, incorporated in 1901 and with a view thereto to enter into the agreement referred to in Article 3 of the Company's Articles of Association and to carry the same into effect with or without any modification either before or after the execu- tion thereof.

(b) To carry on the business of an Electric Light Company in all its branches, and to construct, lay down, establish, fix and carry out all necessary cables, wires, lines, accumulators, lamps and works, and to generate, accumu- late, distribute and supply electricity, and to light Cities, Towns, Streets, Docks, Markets, Theatres, Buildings and places both public and private.

(e) To carry on the business of Electricians, Mechanical Engineers, Suppliers of Electricity for the purpose of Light, Heat, Motive Power or otherwise, and Manu- facturers of and Dealers in all Apparatus and things required for or capable of being used in connection with the generation, distribution, supply, accumulation and employment of Electricity.
